Verne Q. Powell Flute Platinum *4 Flute #7441
Powell Flute #7441: Platinum*4 with silver keys, drawn tone holes, .014 tubing, Modern Powell Scale, A=442, French cups, B foot with gizmo, in-line G; comes with Mancke Silver Headjoint with Pt. Riser, A=442, Modern Powell Scale
Powell Flute #7441, made in 2004, holds a very particular importance
in the Powell Flute history, as it was a period when a Platinum alloy
was created, in order to have the power and volume of Platinum
in the flute body, without the weight.
As a result the timbre clarity of Platinum *4 Powell's all suggest
a quick-silvery intensity, a warmth that is none-the-less on the brighter
side, and extraordinary projection with super-rapid articulation.
Matched with a Mancke headjoint, this combination of flute and body
would be excellent for the player seeking to make the next big step
towards winning an orchestral audition, standing out as a dazzling
soloist, or really bringing the power needed to the first chair of an orchestra.
For flute collectors: this alloy, made up of 4 out of the 6 components
that create Platinum, is one of only a handful of such instruments
ever created. It could well be considered the Platinum version
of Aurumite.
An extraordinary instrument, beautifully cared for, in excellent condition.
Straubinger Pads were installed a few years ago, that will present no problems for years
to come. Recently serviced.
Price: $22,000
