Verne Q. Powell Flute #6118

Verne Q. Powell #6118 with Sterling silver, soldered tone holes, .014 tubing, Cooper Scale, A=440, French style cups, C-foot, in-line G, open hole.

This lovely flute was crafted in 1981 and has been paired with a Brannen Brothers silver headjoint to create a most pleasing sound earmarking the artistry of both famous flute makers. This flute is ideal for the player who is seeking the lightest possible flute with rich vibrancy and strong overtones. With minimal resistance, the flute is super-responsive, and ready to go! For those players wanting something to push against, a heavier headjoint would provide that comfort and perhaps a bit more projection.

Both the body and head are in fine condition, and the traditional pads are covering nicely (although re-padding might be desired in a few years to come). The affordable pricing reflects the fact that pads are not brand-new and provides the buyer with a great opportunity to own a Cooper Scale Powell at below market prices.

The tone and articulation are exemplary of the Powell standard and overall the flute feels comfortable in the hand and is a joy to play.

No dents, dings, with length-wise patina from excessive wiping of the body. The pads are in good condition.

Price: $6,900.
