Powell Flute #3911, completed on Valentine’s Day 1973, is a stunning example of the Brannen Brother’s work, prior to the time that they went on their own to form their company. This flute has a sound that can best be described as possessing the forces of anti-gravity! It is warm, powerful, concentrated, even, and extraordinarily flexible. Wherever you want the gesture to go, it will go, without resistance. They precise and masterful work that went into creating the key-work of this flute makes it a pleasure to behold, as well as a pleasure to hold the hands.

The original Powell 14k headjoint is an extremely traditional cut, and it will be noted that it requires a large air supply. For this reason, the prior owner decided to play Powell #3911 with Williams Heajdoint 14k with pt. Riser which has the more modern element of super-agility and a huge palette of colors.

It is in pristine condition, with no dings, dents or scratches. Gently worn traditional pads are installed, which will not require replacement for years to come. Plays solidly at A=440 when pulled out a bit, and can easily be played at A=442, as well, when pushed in. In our opinion, an outstanding instrument!

Comes in a gorgeous wooden, high gloss finished case with brass fittings and a hard leather/laniard case with snaps.

Price: $33,000
