Powell Flute #3138 - SOLD
Verne Q. Powell Silver Flute #3138,
.014 tubing thickness, pitched at A=440,
French-style key cups, in-line G,
B foot w/gizmo. Comes with addition silver
Brannen Cooper headjoint.
Made exactly 40 years ago - in 1969 - this
deeply rich sounding Vintage Powell flute has a wonderful
tonal palette. Powerful without being overbearing, the
broad strokes of color that emerge from the robust sound
are a source of great satisfaction. Perhaps it is in the
combination of the early Brannen Cooper headjoint with a great Powell
body, but the lively, strong, commanding and super subtle
possibilities of this flute/head set-up seem limitless. Original Powell
head provides versatility, as its traditional cut produces
a thick, but somewhat more resistant sound.
With recently installed Straubinger Pads, the rapid
accuracy in articulation and ease in large interval jumps allows
the player to fully concentrate on the music, and creativity.
In excellent condition, with no dings, dents or scratches.
