Verne Q. Powell Flute #307-SOLD

Built in 1937 for Parker Taylor B foot - Open Hole - Hand Made - with Straubinger Pads

Brilliant, yet warm with huge, round (great!) projection. Cello-like in voice, with strong core to the sound. Fast articulation and
wonderful line.

Parker Taylor, with his vast history in the US Army Band, not only studied with Barrere and Wummer, but has the distinction of having been one of the early teachers of Walfred Kujala.

In 2000 this Powell was sent to the Powell factory where it was converted from open G# to closed G#. At that time the reverse thumb Bb was made into ‘normal’ thumb configuration, and Straubinger Pads were installed...with excellent craftsmenship. In perfect, pristine condition. No dings, dents or scratches.
