Verne Q. Powell Platinum Flute #11210

Verne Q. Powell #11210, Platinum .010 tubing, 10K yellow gold tone holes, 10K keys and mechanism, G donut, C-foot, Platinum tube Headjoint with 10K lip plate and riser, 10K crown

This extraordinary flute was made in 2001 and for us has broken the mold of what a Platinum flute can sound like. So often one thinks of the 'esprit' sound of Platinum, yet this instrument is distinctly warm, elegant and rich in its palette. Possibilities abound with an extended dynamic range not found in most flutes. One can change from a dark, smooth sultry tone to a laser like purity with brightness in the sound by just thinking about it. All supple and delicate efforts to shape a musical line are achieved with surprising ease. The fluid mechanism and modern scale give the player a feeling of confidence as does the super-responsive and agile sounding headjoint that offers a unique power and complexity in the tone only found in the heaviest possible metal used in flute making.

Intrigue in platinum has not waned over the years for so many of the truly great flutists own and still play on platinum for its maximum richness and the ability to create a huge volume or projecting sound while retaining warmth in the tone. This flute is recommended for a soloist or principal orchestral player for it provides the ultimate experience in flute playing especially in larger venues where projection is a concern.

One can see from the photos that Powell #11210 is in like-new, perfect condition, with new Straubinger pads, and no markings or scratches of any kind. The beauty of Platinum and 10K gold is extraordinarily captivating and please note the detailing of a solid C key in the left hand that is just one of the extra details found on this amazing flute. This flute feels as smooth in the hand as it sounds in the hall. Truly a rare find and one of the great flutes from the Powell company.
