Verne Q. Powell #10959 Aurumite Flute-SOLD
Handmade, Openhole, Aurumite, 14K gold Powell headjoint with Platinum riser - Philharmonic cut, A-442, Split E, C# trill, In-line G, B-foot with gizmo
Made in 2000, Powell #10959 was crafted with all of the
specifications that most flutist desire. The 14K headjoint with
Platinum riser and 14k gold crown is a marvel to play as is the
unique sound and feel of the Aurumite tubing. Combined with the
Split E mechanism and C# trill, the flute offers a rich, full,
"expensive" sound. The combination of the gold and silver - of the
Aurumite tube - offers a player a yin and yang approach to heavy vs.
light and dark vs. bright. This flute is such a pleasure to play that
one might find it difficult to put it down even after hours of playing.
Our first impression of the sound of #10959 could be summed up in a
few words such as voluptuous, sensuous, and rich. The articulation is
quick, the mechanism is fluid, legato smoothness, and subtle tapering
are all there. The Philharmonic cut on this headjoint features a
flatness to the curvature of the lip plate which occurs on both sides
of the blow hole. This particular shaping of the lip plate creates a
feeling of secure, powerful, solid, and reliable playing while
providing vibrancy and warmth in the tone. One must play this flute
to appreciate the amazing beauty and ease of performance that is
possible with the least amount of effort. What we all want is a flute
that has no obstacles for us and allows us to obtain the ultimate
freedom of expression. This is a flute that can truly go.
The like new condition is clean and impeccable. The flute has
Straubinger pads.
No dings, dents, or scratches.
