The .016 tubing thickness allows for a large quantity of air to flow though, without cracking notes, and provides a wonderful balance of free-blowing and resistance. An extremely quick and vibrant articulation are easily approached in all registers, and the intonation is stable throughout. There is no doubt that the Platinum riser contributes to the great projection, and the ethereal qualities in the sound. The original owner of this flute chose to purchase it without a Powell Aurumite head, and instead found the Miyazawa head - with lovely engraving on the lip plate and the crown - to bring out its fullest potential...and projection!
