Powells made in the 70's are sought after for their unique ability for a quick response and ease of playing. This Powell has a light, fluid, earthy tone. With great agility, it offers no obstacles when flying from one register to the other. The headjoint has great octave intonation and the flute is pitched at a comfortable A=442. The flute projects beautifully accomplishing a distinct focus along a great distance delivering a spinning vibrato and distinct articulation with ease.
The physical condition of #4466 is impeccable. A smooth tube, free of markings of any kind, like new pads, and recent work from our shop will enable a player years of trouble-free maintenance.
