Louis Lot Brevetté flute
Louis Lot flute with Albert Cooper headjoint and vintage Bonneville headjoint, Open hole, French style cups, C-foot
Among the most difficult to find and coveted by some, this Louis Lot bares all of the hallmarks of great craftsmanship and indescribable beauty of ethereal sound. The condition is impeccable with recent plating and an overhaul with traditional pads. Both headjoints marry well with the tubing, the Albert Cooper head providing a richer and more lavish tone of the two. The flute is believed to have been made around the turn of the century, perhaps a little before. The original headjoint had been changed to the Bonneville many years ago and the whereabouts of the original is unknown.
The Cooper Headjoint stands on its own as one of the better ones we have played. Rich, warm and powerful tonally, it balances the delicacy of the Louis Lot, and contrasts with the more intimate and furtive qualities of the Bonneville. A great palette to possess! Many musical ideas come easily when playing this flute. It is an education to play a Louis Lot flute, indeed.
The sale includes both headjoints.
Amazing condition is shown in the photography.
No dents, or dings, with the expected patina of loving care.
