Made in 1999 the intensely deep and rich sound of this Emanuel simply commands attention. A fantastically strong core to the tone is balanced by the great sensitivity inherent in the tapering of notes and the freely shimmering vibrato. The attack is rapid, and the warm and dark presence in the tonal palette is vibrant, with even the slightest impulse. The dynamic range is immense, and the largesse of this flute is ever present, even at pianissimo.

A Bennett Scale instrument, Emanuel Flutes are now a noted presence in many major orchestras, both local to NYC, and further afield. Manuel Arista - the creator of this fine instrument - has chosen to provide for a slightly larger tube for his 14k flutes. Rather than the typical .012" thickness, this flute is an .014". This is a similar size to a 'light' silver flute, and the added weight adds profound power to the sound.
