What strikes us about this spectacular flute is not only the vast range of diverse tone production, rich with warm colors and sparkling clarity, but the craftsmanship from headjoint to footjoint which is of the highest order. Shown here are some close-up images to illustrate the symmetry and meticulous hand work that went into the fabrication of this flute. Such craftsmanship produces a very stable flute and can provide reliable seating of the pads and thus a dependable instrument in all weather conditions.

Interestingly enough, the flute is sized .016 so that the barrel will accommodate some silver headjoints. This Burkart is offered with or without the headjoint shown. (Please see our headjoint page for details on Burkart headjoint #783).

Burkhart #200 brings a healthy feeling of resistance and a wide variety of possibilities for color shifts, subtle tapering, and spinning vibrato throughout the entire range of the instrument. The Convertible footjoint gives the player an extended range of brighter colors when using the C-foot and a darker tone quality with the B- foot attachment. The convertible B-foot with the addition of an extra 6th ring has slightly more weight than the standard B-foot.
This flute will excite those players who are looking to project a dark and complex sound in orchestral settings when the textures are thick and clarity is needed. The articulation might exceed your expectations with a flute of this weight. The mechanism is fluid under the touch and the pads are in great condition for the flute was made in August of 2002. The flute also has C# trill and the high E facilitator with a lower 'G donut' insert.
Here is an instrument that offers the full gamut of tone color from bright to dark in one flute, and for those who have found the best possible headjoint already, it is a chance to buy a gold flute at a savings.
